A Quick Observation
Does anyone else think that it should be illegal to have any sort of alarm/siren/crash sound in radio advertising?
How many times have you been driving listening to the radio only to be jarred by a commercial using a siren or crash sound effect to get your attention? I understand why you would do it but I don’t think the advertisers have thought this through. Some even go so far as to put it low in the mix so that it sounds extremely real (at least to my ears). This is dangerous. It immediately makes you look around averting your attention from the business at hand - driving.
Sure it gets my attention - but not in a good way. And I can say this with certainty - I am not likely to come away with happy fun feelings about your product/service if you just used a cheap scare tactic to get my attention.
Phew! Ok — I’m done ranting now. Everyone can continue on with their day.
Peace,
Kelley
