We are back online after a brief, unplanned hiatus.
North Texas has seen it’s share of spring thunderstorms this year (as usual). The one that hit us early Tuesday morning managed to take out our cable modem.
Time Warner came by yesterday and replaced our cooked little critter and we are back up and running.

I did some work on the site this morning.
The forms weren’t working. They’re fixed now. If you tried to use our contact form in the last week or so, please try again.
There may also be some missing images on olders posts. I am making the executive decision to just let them go. This was part of the update to the latest wordpress. I am all about simplification these days and am tired of having to fiddle with things after every update to get the site back up and running.

I think that I have everything straightened out now.
There were a TON of spam comments that had to be dealt with. They are all gone now. From this point forward any commenting done on the site will be moderated – that way I can delete it before it ever gets to the site.
I am tentatively thinking that I have the php error problem fixed as well, so a good week all around for the photo gallery.

Whilst performing this latest round of maintenance to heal our little photo gallery I found that it had succumbed to a deluge of spam comments.
There were well north of 4000 junk comments on there and the number was climbing. I found that there was a new version of gallery available with better comment filtering so we have jumped up to that now.
Using akismet, I am in the process of filtering all that junk off and deleting it. There will most likely be some performance hit as I do this, so for the next few days please bear with us.

We are having some periodic problems with our photo gallery.
If you get an error or the page doesn’t load, just give it some time to reset and then check back later. The system will correct itself eventually. I think I know what the problem is, but since I am at work it will be this evening before I can do anything about it.

I made some updates / changes to the server over the weekend that should pay off with a much snappier website.
Everything should be transparent to the end user but, as always, let me know if any errors or problems arise.

I just upgraded the site engine again…Everything looks to be ok. I also added a new theme.
It seems like I am always posting about themes but here we go again. This one has a nice, clean feel to it.

I thought we might try a little different look for the page. This style is more in line with our photo gallery and gives the knlc domain a more unified look.
Thoughts anyone?

It looks like the DNS issues have worked themselves out now. The site seems to be loading fairly quickly now.
I’ll be keeping an eye on it, but I think things are returning to normal now.

Well, it took getting to the weekend to find some time to reset everything, but we are back up and running.
I decided to take the opportunity and do some upgrades as well so we are running a spiffy updated, runnin’ smooth site.
You might also notice a theme change — I am planning on putting a nice springtime image up top (as soon as I can find one).
In the meantime, enjoy!
